Terms of Service

Last updated: July 18, 2026

Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of GameScope, a competitive intelligence and market analysis platform operated by Useful Research Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). GameScope includes a public, self-serve Greenlight Score experience and a workspace product for deeper project-based analysis. By creating an account, verifying an email for Greenlight, purchasing paid features, or otherwise using GameScope, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. GameScope is intended for professional or business use by game developers, publishers, and related strategists. If you use the service on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

You represent that the information you provide is accurate and that your use of GameScope complies with applicable law.

Product Overview

Greenlight Score (self-serve). You may run a limited preliminary score without an account. Precise scores, a saved concept library, and a full neighborhood report require agreeing to these Terms, verifying your email, and—where applicable—completing a purchase. Greenlight access is scoped to Greenlight routes and related features; it is separate from full workspace access.

Workspace. Project workspaces, broader analysis tools, and credit-based report runs are available to users with workspace access—typically via invitation (Early Access) or a self-serve Starter purchase. Features, data coverage, pricing, and availability may change as we improve the product. The service may experience downtime, errors, or incomplete results.

Account Registration

You may sign in using supported methods (such as Google or an emailed one-time verification code). You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Where the product requires it, you must accept the then-current version of these Terms and the Privacy Policy before we send a sign-in email or complete OAuth for Greenlight, or before continuing in the workspace.

Greenlight Score (Self-Serve)

Before verification, we may store an anonymous browser session so you can resume a draft concept and score. After you verify your email, we may link that session to your account and save concepts in your Greenlight library.

Free Greenlight use is subject to limits shown in the product, including a maximum of 5 saved concepts without workspace access, and monthly caps on preliminary scores and rescores for verified users. We may apply rate limits, bot checks (such as Turnstile), and similar measures to protect the service.

Waitlist or Early Access denial for the workspace does not by itself prevent use of the public Greenlight path when that path is enabled.

Plans, Credits, and Usage Limits

GameScope may offer free allowances, one-time purchases, and analytical credits used as an account balance for workspace features. Credits are non-transferable unless we state otherwise. Prices, allowances, and costs are shown in the product at the time you act; checkout terms for a given purchase control if they differ from this summary.

Current self-serve offerings include:

  • Full neighborhood report (USD $5). Unlocks one full neighborhood report for one concept (identified by its concept fingerprint). After payment, we may start report generation automatically; a manual generate control remains available if needed. Repeat purchase for the same unlocked concept should not create a second charge.
  • Starter project (USD $20). Grants workspace access and a credit allowance (currently 20 credits, as shown at checkout) so you can create projects and run analyses beyond the Greenlight-only path.
  • Additional credits. Available in-product for workspace users. Typical spend (as shown in the product): starting a new project, additional analyses beyond included allowances, and report generation (including higher cost when comparison mode is requested). Reserved credits for in-progress jobs are released if a job fails without delivering a completed analysis.

We may change plans, credit rules, bundles, or limits with notice where required by law.

Acceptable Use

To keep GameScope reliable and fair for all users, you agree not to:

  • Use the service in violation of applicable law
  • Attempt to bypass access controls, free-tier limits, rate limits, unlocks, credits, or invite restrictions
  • Scrape, harvest, bulk-export, reverse engineer, or abuse the service—including catalog titles, comparable games, or other outputs—beyond normal permitted use
  • Resell or redistribute GameScope outputs or catalog data as a competing data product
  • Submit content you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful or harmful
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or other users' access

Your Content

You retain ownership of concepts, project materials, and other content you submit to GameScope. We do not claim ownership of your content, and we do not sell your concepts or project content.

You grant us a limited license to host, process, and analyze your content only as needed to provide, maintain, and secure the service for you, and to improve reliability, security, performance, and product functionality for your account. We do not use your private concepts or project materials to train general-purpose models for unrelated products, and we do not claim rights to reuse your concepts outside operating GameScope for your account.

To operate, support, secure, troubleshoot, improve, and administer GameScope, our authorized personnel may access account information, projects, prompts and inputs, generated analyses, report outputs, usage records, billing and credit records, and diagnostic information. We use this access only for legitimate service operations, support, security, product quality, billing, compliance, and similar business purposes.

Content you keep private in your account remains private unless you choose to share or export it. You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit your content.

Confidentiality and Sharing

We design GameScope so your projects, concepts, and analyses are accessible to you and your account—not to other users—unless you deliberately share or export them.

We treat your account content as customer data, not as content we publish or license to other customers. Access is limited to what is needed to operate GameScope for your account, including personnel and service providers bound by confidentiality obligations.

We do not disclose one customer's private report content to other customers. Internal access is limited to service operations such as support, troubleshooting, security, billing or credit reconciliation, product quality, and compliance.

You control what you download, copy, or share with colleagues. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for how you distribute materials once they leave GameScope. We are not responsible for disclosure caused by your sharing choices or by events outside our reasonable control.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users and the public, or to enforce these Terms. Standard security practices apply, but no online service can guarantee absolute confidentiality; use appropriate judgment for sensitive strategy materials.

Analytical Reports, Comparables, and Catalog Data

Reports, comparable titles, neighborhood metrics, scores, and related outputs are generated from third-party data sources, catalogs, and analytical models. They reflect information available at the time of generation and may be incomplete, revised, or superseded as underlying data changes.

Free and paid Greenlight experiences may display third-party catalog titles and related metadata (including data derived from sources such as IGDB and Steam). Catalog names and related fields are provided for your internal research and greenlight decision-making in connection with GameScope. You may not scrape, bulk-export, republish, sublicense, or otherwise redistribute catalog data or GameScope outputs as a standalone dataset or competing product.

Outputs may be subject to separate third-party rights and restrictions. We license outputs to you for your internal business use in connection with GameScope. You are responsible for ensuring your use complies with applicable third-party terms and law.

All outputs are provided for informational and research purposes only. You are responsible for how you interpret and apply them in your work.

No Guarantee of Commercial Outcomes

GameScope does not guarantee greenlight decisions, funding, revenue, market performance, or any other commercial result. Outputs are not investment, legal, financial, or business advice. Studios should apply their own judgment and professional advisors where appropriate.

Intellectual Property

GameScope, including its software, user interface, branding, documentation, and underlying technology, is owned by Useful Research Inc. or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, no license or other rights are granted to you.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of GameScope, reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where applicable law permits, or remove proprietary notices.

Reports and outputs generated for your account are licensed to you for your internal business use in connection with GameScope. We do not transfer ownership of third-party data, catalogs, or underlying datasets reflected in outputs.

If you voluntarily provide suggestions or feedback about GameScope through support or other channels we designate, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use that feedback solely to improve GameScope, without obligation to you.

Payment and Refunds

Paid features are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. The item, price, quantity, and total are shown before you continue to payment. Taxes may apply. The terms displayed at checkout govern each purchase.

Purchases may include Greenlight report unlocks, Starter (or similar) workspace access with credits, and additional analytical credit packs. After successful payment, unlocks and credits are applied to your account as described in the product.

Unless we state otherwise at purchase or as required by law, fees are non-refundable once an unlock, credits, or other paid entitlement has been delivered to your account or consumed for completed work. Failed jobs that do not deliver a completed analysis should release reserved credits per product behavior. If a paid charge fails due to a technical error on our side and no unlock or credits were delivered, contact legal@gamescope.ai within 14 days and we will work with you in good faith to correct the issue or provide a credit or refund as appropriate.

Chargebacks without contacting us first may result in suspension of your account while we investigate. Stripe's terms also apply to payment processing.

Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Useful Research Inc., its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of GameScope, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights—except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

We do not warrant that third-party data is complete, current, or error-free, or that outputs will meet your expectations for every use case.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Useful Research Inc. AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Termination

You may stop using GameScope at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we need to protect the service or other users. Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated effective date. Where the product tracks an accepted terms version, we may require you to accept the new version before continuing. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.

General Provisions

Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding GameScope and supersede prior understandings on that subject.

Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Force majeure. We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Notice. We may provide notice by email, through the product, or by posting updated Terms. You may contact us at legal@gamescope.ai.

Export. You may not use GameScope in violation of U.S. export control or sanctions laws.

Survival. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and payment) survive.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would apply another state's law.

Except where prohibited by law, you and Useful Research Inc. agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or GameScope will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts. Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND Useful Research Inc. AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.

Before filing a claim, we encourage you to contact legal@gamescope.ai so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
